My little boy turns 6 today :-).
He's at a age where he's really excited about birthdays and celebrations. Not only about his own, but also others' :-) (I will blog about these later).
So this morning, HQ woke up to hugs, kisses, and birthday wishes from all of us. He was mighty pleased with the presents that we presented him, and was busy tearing wrappers soon after. Amongst the myraid of gifts, his favourites were Metal Fight toys from Papa, a Nat Geo compilation of animal articles in hardcopy from Kiu Kiu, a cool dinosaur pencil from Tai Yi, and a 3D animal puzzle from Mama.
As the kids have just recovered from a stubbon fever, and are still having very bad phelgmy cough and runny nose (5th time this year :-(. QQ is also wheezing badly), we did not plan anything extravagant. Hubs and I were discussing on the phone about getting cute little piggy buns from Dragon i so that the kids will not consume too much birthday cake, as eggs are major no-no for cough. You know, we are at a stage where we are very desperate to do just anything to rid of those cough and flu, including scheduling both Western and Chinese medicine into their medicine menu :-(
HQ told me that he would like to invite his best friends over for his birthday next year. I said "Sure!", but told him that I needed his help to plan some activities for his friends. My boy said "That's easy! We'll watch Nat Geo on tv!". I hope his friends are as crazy about animals as he is :-D. We'll see next year then :-).
Here's some photos taken during our simple cake-blowing session: The kids had fun whacking the cake and watching tv. Although it's a very simple celebration, to HQ, it was lovely because he got all his favourite things as presents! :-D.
