penang trip: where we stayed

Trip was between 4th June 2011 - 6th June 2011. Continuation from here.

While we were in Penang for a short break, we stayed at Holiday Inn at their Beach Wing Seaview Room. The check-in time was pretty long; we waited for nearly an hour for our access card!

While waiting, the kids played and watched tv, took pictures:and they took turns to play with the iPad and iPhone:
When we finally stepped in our room, our displeasure was quickly doused. We loved the room! What I really love about it is everything was so new. And it's so spacious and bright!

The room had a floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall length of windows (this photo is dark and blurry cos I snap it from my little cam)...overlooking the street and the sea:Kids getting comfy on the beds watching tvThe bathroom with bathtub and enclosed showerWe slept very well for the 2 nights that we were there. The kids slept on the king sized bed with chairs on both sides to prevent them from rolling over, and Hubs and I took the super single correction: queen size bed. After the kids had fallen asleep, we enjoyed some cold drinks and the beautiful night view. There was even some fireworks display on the first night :-)In fact, QQ loved the room so much that whereever we went in Penang, she'd pester us to go back to the hotel room *slap forehead*. Our conversation:

QQ: I want to stay in this hotel forever and ever!
Me: But if you stay here forever, you will not be able to see Gong gong and Popo...
QQ: I will ask them to come and stay with us then! *grin*

All in all, it was a great experience staying at Holiday Inn Penang. If we didn't have to wait that long to check-in, it would have been perfect :-).

QQ is just like Chloe... in any nice hotels that she stays she'll say the same thing "I want to stay here forever and ever!". The room is really nice and impressive. Is it a new hotel or they refurbished it? We have a pending Holiday Inn stay too ;)

Wow, the hotel is nice and the room is so big.. How much you pay for it?

Mummy Moon: Yes, I think the room was quite worth the money we paid. My hubs booked online at RM 450 for 2 nights.

That's a standard twin room or family room? If it's standard twin then it's really huge. I was in Penang at the same time too, but I was there for work, not play :-(
